This is linked to another offence by the driver of the same vehicle at the same spot 2 days earlier- see the report on this site. Alarming close pass at speed, so close you can read the 'Gran Coupe' engraved on the nearside rear window. There is illegal crossing of the unbroken white line in a dangerous position just before a blind humpbacked bridge- the UWL is there for a reason! For 2 Covid years the driver was scheduled for a court hearing, but Lancashire Constabulary backed down shortly before the due date, so the was no prosecution, nothing on the driver's record and no penalty. The excuse dreamed up by the police was a sudden realisation, after over 2 years since the case was reported with video and stills, that there was no rear facing footage. The police/ CPS had also dreamed up a new Lancashire-only law which is that it's legal for a large expensive BMW exceeding the speed limit to be on the wrong side of the road and across the unbroken white line if there is no video of him actually crossing the line. It is difficult to fail to despise the police!.
